DUTCH COSTUME EXCHANGE IS NOW ON-LINE!
Orange City, IA -- Buy, sell, or rent authentic Dutch costumes for
this
year's Tulip Festival using the new on-line costume exchange service. Convenient
and free, you can post your authentic costumes directly to the Tulip Festival
web site, along with a digital photo. Or search for the one you want to buy or
rent with a "wanted" posting. Simply click here
and go to the Costume Exchange page, where you can email a description of the
costume and your contact information.
JOIN THE MODE SHOW AND SHOW OFF YOUR
AUTHENTIC DUTCH COSTUMES
The Orange City Tulip Festival Steering Committee invites new
members of the
community or anyone interested in participating in the Straatfeest "Mode Show"
of authentic Dutch costumes to join the fun each day before the afternoon
parade. If you have an authentic Dutch costume, contact Shonna Hector (737-3311)
to be part of the Mode Show.
If you're interested in having a new authentic Dutch costume made, there may
still be time! The Steering Committee is asking that you consider a costume
representing the provinces of Zaan, Twente, or Drenthe, which are in short
supply at the annual Tulip Festival. Contact one the following area seamstresses
for information about costumes, and their availability to sew one for this
year's festival: Denise DeVries (737-4725), Nupe Jeltema (737-4779), Wendy Eason
(737-3268), Nancy Statema (737-4218), Janine Oolman (737-4749), Delores DeJong (Volendam
and Friesland hats only, 737-2922).
