Tulip Festival "Welkom" Includes Daily Gas Discount for Visitors
"We want to welcome visitors from across the region to a full day of
family fun at Tulip Festival," says Marilyn Van Engelenhoven, of the
celebration's Steering Committee, "come early and stay late to enjoy a taste of
Europe without the hassles –and costs – of distant travel. Over 1,000 volunteers
and community merchants give generously of time and resources to support Tulip
Festival. In 2008, two local business leaders, Scott Mulder and Chad Noteboom,
will offer discounts on gas for visitors.
"We hope the promise of discounted gas will encourage even more families to join
us for a great family event." says Scott of Mulder Oil.
Chad of Conoco/Notebook Tire Center adds, "We're glad to join together to offer
a discount on both sides of the street. So come visit us on the corner of
Highway 10 and Albany Avenue, across from Northwestern College."
Visitors are invited to ask for a coupon at the Chamber/Tulip Festival Office on
Highway 10 or the Windmill Information Booth, and coupons will be available
along the parade route. Ask our volunteers and ushers. Coupons, offered all
three days, are valid on the day of receipt.
Three locally-owned gas stations are participating, with savings of 10 cents per
gallon for cash, and 5 cents per gallon when using a credit card. Payments, with
coupon, must be made inside at these three stations (Highway 10 and Albany
Avenue):
CONOCO/NOTEBOOM TIRE CENTER, owned by Chad Noteboom, will be open from 5:15 AM
to 9:00 PM
SINCLAIR/HIGHWAY SERVICE, owned by Scott Mulder, will be open from 7:30 AM to
