Dear Parent,
If your child(ren) is in K-5 and interested in riding a Tulip Festival float please complete this form. Due to safety concerns, we are requesting that your child(ren) sign up for no more than 3 parades. Please split these between afternoon and evening parades. There is always plenty of room to ride a float in the evening parade, so please consider that when signing up. Submissions are due by Friday, May 2.
Your child(ren) will be added to the list for the parade(s) indicated below. Please put these dates on your personal calendar.
You, your child, or both should be at the corner of Arizona Ave and 3rd St SW between 1:45 and 2:10 p.m. for the afternoon parades and 5:15-5:45 p.m. for the evening parades. Our volunteer workers will not be ready for you before this time. Children and parents, please be respectful of those in line ahead of you and our volunteers. Everyone will be checked in.
Your child(ren) will receive their float number and their carnival ride ticket when they check in. Your child may participate in Street Scrubbing, Dutch Dancing, or Children’s Games. Just come when you are done and we will assign you a float #.
Check-in is required. Children cannot just jump on a float, they must check in with our volunteers. Your child(ren) is/are required to wear a Dutch costume and wooden shoes or black shoes to ride a float. NO BARE FEET PLEASE! Courtesy is expected of everyone. We want our visitors and our participants to have fun and enjoy our annual festival.
