Our honored tradition of Tulip Festival Royalty
Since its inception, the Tulip Festival’s much beloved Queen and Court have been a prominent fixture in our festivities.  The first Queen was crowned in 1937. Except for the war years of 1942-1946, a Queen and her Court have reigned each festival.  Presently, five high school seniors are selected by the public each September and a pageant is held each November to crown the Queen. A panel of judges is assisted by the public in selecting a Queen.
Queen & Court Reunion – Saturday, May 16 at 10:30 am
Enjoy light refreshments and a time to reminisce with the tulip queens and court members. Following the event, we’ll walk in the mode show and ride the Queen’s Birthday Float in the afternoon parade. Please wear your Dutch costume if possible. If you have photos from your days on the court, please share them with martketing@octulipfestival.com or through the Facebook group.
