Hobbies & Interests: I love playing piano, reading books, and writing.  I also enjoy photography, babysitting, and listening to music. I love hanging out with my friends, traveling, and spending time outdoors. 

School Activities: I am a Senior at Unity Christian High School. Throughout High School I have participated in the One Act Play, the school musical “The Wizard of Oz”, Cross Country, and Soccer. I am involved in Individual Speech and Group Speech. I sing in Concert Choir, KnightSounds, and Bel Canto which is the women’s choir. For the past two years I have been a Living Group Leader. This year, I am on the Yearbook and Student Newspaper Staff. This summer I was chosen to participate in the Iowa ALA Girls State.

Spare Time Activities: I am a volunteer at my church, teaching children and worship, and Sunday school. I babysit for various families, and enjoy playing board games. I like to make homemade pizza and watch a movie with my family during our weekly Family Movie Nights. 

Education/Career Plans: I plan to attend a Christian college and major in English Creative Writing.

Past Tulip Festival Participation: I have participated in Tulip Festival since I was 5 months old. As a little girl, I dressed up in a Dutch costume and attended the puppet shows. In elementary school I participated in the Dutch Games and Dutch Dance. One of my favorite childhood memories of Tulip Festival is scrubbing streets with my grandma and great aunt in matching Friesland costumes. I also rode the floats in almost every parade. I have continued Dutch Dancing through High School and have carried the Province Flags at the start of the parade. Last year I was able to participate in the Sunday Community Church Service. Every year during the festival, I spend a lot of time with my friends and family downtown enjoying the beautiful tulips, food, rides, car show, and Night Show. It’s one of the highlights of my year each year.
