Name: Elizabeth King
Parents: Don & Miranda King
Hobbies & Interests: My hobbies and interests include FFA & 4-H (showing dairy cows), fishing, traveling, kayaking, music (singing-praise team), theater, and service projects with my church’s youth group.
School Activities: I am the Vice President for the FFA chapter at Unity, so that has allowed me to become very involved with students from every grade. Every summer I play softball for Unity. My junior and senior year I have been a living group leader at my school, which involves leading devotions and games for a mix of students from each grade. My junior year I had the opportunity to be a class officer, so I spent a lot of time planning prom and other class preparations. I also enjoy being involved in Unity’s concert choir, and being in the school’s musical last year.
Spare Time Activities: I spend as much time as I can with my family, we’ve loved being out in God’s beautiful creation together and we’ve watched countless movies. My three year old sister and I listen and sing along to oldies music nearly every day, and I really cherish that time with her. I also enjoy spending time with friends, reading, and watching football. When I’m not doing those things, I am working at Ace Hardware alongside my dad, mom, and sister.
Education/Career Plans: After graduation I plan on attending Dordt University. Though I am undecided on my major, I know it will have something to do with agriculture.
Past Tulip Festival Participation: I’ve participated in two Night Shows, Beauty and the Beast (the second time), and Cinderella. I’ve been involved in Dutch Dozen since my freshman year of high school. I did Dutch games, and Jr. & Sr. Dutch dancing all throughout elementary and middle school. I marched in the parade my 7th grade year doing flag for Orange City Christian School’s marching band. I have scrubbed the streets with my family every year Orange City has had Tulip Festival, along with riding the floats, and always watching the parade.
